The patterns throughout Dulcie’s painting illustrate women’s ceremonial body paint design. The design depicts waterholes where women perform ceremony, with the smaller circles representing bush tucker. Awelye – women’s ceremony, demonstrates respect & connection with the land. In performing these ceremonies they ensure well-being and happiness within their communities. Traditionally, the designs are made using red and white paints, but Dulcie uses a combination of bright colours to share this story.
