Dulcie paints the Desert Yam (or Bush Plum) story from her family’s country. The yam grows underground with its viny shrub growing above ground. It can be eaten raw or cooked and is a staple. The people have depicted the plant in body paint and art to pay homage to the spirit of the plant to foster regeneration. Dulcie’s work continues this tradition.
