In Bush Plum Dreaming, Anmatyerre artist Belinda Golder Kngwarreye honours the sacred Anwekety (Bush Plum), a small but spiritually significant fruit that grows across her ancestral lands in the Utopia region. With a palette of soft pinks, deep reds, creams, and bursts of golden ochre, Belinda layers delicate brushstrokes in a rhythmic, almost floral composition that radiates warmth and abundance.

The bush plum is more than a seasonal food source—it carries ceremonial and ecological importance. Passed down from her grandmother, the renowned artist Minnie Pwerle, this Dreaming connects Belinda to Country, kinship, and cultural responsibility. Each mark symbolises the ripening of fruit, the scattering of seeds, and the nurturing cycles of land and life.
