Four Dreamings
Carbiene McDonald began painting later in life and developed a unique style quickly, painting his country to the south-west of Papunya in textural planes of vibrant colour. In Four Dreamings, Carbiene reminds us of the interconnected nature of country. In this work he alludes to waterholes, knowledge he gained in his younger years as he traversed this country with his father. This is important knowledge of country required to sustain life in ther desert.
