Kulyakartu
I paint about all the rocks and kurru [creeks] all around Kulyakartu and Kirriwirri. We went camping there for two weeks, we went to Wirpa first and then to Kirriwirri. We camped in the nice flat ground in the open when we got to Kulyakartu.
Chloe learns from her old people, sitting with them to hear stories and develop her painting skills. She has travelled across this Country, camping on its open plains, visiting soaks, and seeing its landscapes from the air. Inspired by the blues, greens, and whites of the salt pans, Chloe’s work reflects the beauty and history of this land. Guided by Muuki Taylors teachings of Jukurrpa [Dreaming] stories, she is part of a new generation that keeps stories alive through painting.
